B.Tech & M.Tech – Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the youngest departments of the institute. It was established in the year 2009. The department has set up well equipped laboratory facilities for carrying out teaching, research and consultancy activities in various fields of Civil Engineering.

To provide technical education for making the students acceptable to the wide variety of civil engineering industry domains for the benefit to the society.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

1) Graduates of the programme will be able to adapt to the continuous changes in the field of civil engineering.

“CIVILITE” society was formed by the students of Civil Engineering Department. The inauguration of this society was carried out on Wednesday 6th November 2012. The society organizes technical events to improve the knowledge of students in all the fields of civil engineering, literary events to cope up the social responsibilities, cultural activities, etc to tackle the future challenges.

ACTIVITIES

  • CIVILITE function (technical and non-technical) was organized from 6th to 7th November 2012.
  • Survey camp of the students was organised at Dalhousie, Himanchal Pradesh (20-07-13 to 01-08-13).
  • Workshop was organized on 24.09.2013 on topic “Concrete Mix Design”.
  • District Level Aptitude Test was organized on 19.10.2013.
  • National Education Day organized and lecture delivered on the topic “National education day and importance of education” on 11.11.2013.
  • Educational tour for the final year students on 15.11.2013 at Ambuja Cement, Bhatinda.
  • Students from the Govt. Engineering College, Paniwala Mota along with their Director Dr. M.L. Bansal visited Civil Engineering Department for the Laboratories Experiments on 22.03.2014.
  • Survey camp of the students was organized in the month of July 2014 at JCD Vidyapeeth Campus.
  • National Education Day organized and lecture delivered on the topic “Education in India and National Education Day” on 11.11.2014.
  • Blankets and clothes were distributed to the gardeners and sweepers of JCD Vidyapeeth as well as among the poor people of Sirsa on 17.12.14.
