Rules & Regulations for Talent Hunt (Audition)  on 14th & 15th September 2017 (Final on 23rd September 2017)

Singing

  • The time limit for each contestant is 3-5 minutes.
  • Contestants may sing the same song as another contestant.
  • Medium of Singing can be Hindi/Punjabi/Haryanvi
  • Contestants may supply their own background tracks CD.
  • The Participants can use their own musical instrument if they wish.
  • The wording of the song should not be vulgar.
  • The participants are required to register them self before 11th September in the JCDM college.
  • On the spot entry will not be entertained.

i) CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (PERCUSSION)

  1. Only one entry per college is allowed.
  2. The duration of performance will be 7-10 minutes.
  3. The maximum number of accompanists is two.
  4. Participants must bring their own instruments.
  5. Item can be ‘presented in either Hindustani or Karnataka style.
  6. Judgement will most likely be on the basis of the qualities relating to Taal, Composition and General impression.

ii) CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (NON-PERCUSSION SWARA VADYA)

  1. Only one entry per college is allowed.
  2. The duration of performance will be 7-10 minutes.
  3. The maximum number of accompanists is two.
  4. Participants must bring their own instruments.
  5. Instruments of the Western origin and adapted to the Indian Raga system are allowed.
  6. Item can be presented in either North Indian or South Indian Style.
  7. Judgement will most likely be on the basis of the qualities relating to Taal, Swara, Selection or Raga, Composition and General Impression.

iii) ORCHESTRA (INDIAN)

  1. Only one entry per college is allowed.
  2. The duration of performance will be 7-10 minutes.
  3. The team can consist of maximum up to 10 participants.
  4. The number of accompanists/students only two.
  5. Participants will bring their own instruments.
  6. Harmonium is permissible only to provide the base.
  7. The following instruments can be included in Orchestra (Indian):- Sitar, Violin, Flute, Esraj (or Dilruba), Jaltarang table Tarang and Sarodh, sarangi, Santoor, Shishtarang, Kashi Tarang, Nal-tarang, Patti-tarang, Tanpura.
  8. Film and recorded tunes will not be allowed.

iv) FOLK INSTRUMENTAL HARYANVI (SOLO)

  1. Only one entry per college is allowed.
  2. The duration of performance will be 3-5 minutes.
  3. The number of accompanists/students should not by more than two.
  4. Participants must bring their own instruments.
  5. The following instruments can be included in Haryanvi Folk Instrument Sarangi, Been, Nagara, Tasha, Haryanvi Tumba, Gharva, Deru, Bainjo, Clarnet, Chimta, Bansali, Algoja and all other instruments which are termed as Haryanvi Folk Instruments.

v) WESTERN INSTRUMENT (SOLO)

  1. Only one entry per college is allowed.
  2. The duration of performance will be 3-5 minutes.
  3. The number of accompanists should not be more than two.
  4. Participants must bring their own instruments.
  5. 5. Judging of this item will be based on Quality of composition, rhythm, coordination and gen. impression etc.

Dance

  1. The duration of performance will be 8-10 minutes.
  2. The duration of performance will be 4-6 minutes for solo.
  3. The Dance can be of any style, not necessarily of folk dance style, but the group dance should not include puppet or ballet dance.
  4. Each team will consist of maximum 10 participants. The group may consist of all boys or all girls or combined together.
  5. The evaluation of the group dance will be based on the choreography of the dance, background music and costumes. No weightage will be given for the stage accessories.
  6. Participant has to provide background song related to performance before 1 hour to His/Her performance.

Theatre

  • Participants will arrange their own props, costumes, accessories, make-up and background music (for talent hunt).
  • Participants can choose any theme and language.
  • Skit can also be performed in Haryanvi.
  • Maximum 10 Participants in Skit/Drama.
  • No act shall contain any offensive, obscene or disrespectful action.
  • Interested participants should give their names before 11th Sep.
  • Participants must bring their I-cards with them.

i) Debate

  1. A team of 2 members.
  2. One for the topic and One against the topic.
  3. Time limit: 3+1 minutes.
  4. 2 rebuttal questions allowed. No cross questioning.
  5. Topics: a. Social Networking sites: boom or bane
  6. India Performed well in Olympics
  7. Women are responsible for crime against them

ii) Declamation

  1. Speeches are to be ten minutes in length.
  2. Only one (01) participant per team.
  3. Command the language! Language is no barred.
  4. Eye contact and hand gestures are important.
  5. Topics: a. Role of youth in nation building
  6. Sports culture in India
  7. Terrorism 

iii) Poetical Symposium

  1. Only One (01) participant per team.
  2. Command the language! Language is no barred.
  3. Self-written poems are allowed.
  4. No time limit.
  5. Any topic will be chosen.
  6. iv) Anchoring
  7. Rules would be announced during the event.

QUIZ

  • Each college has to depute only one team of three participants.
  • The topics for the quiz includes Biography of Jan Nayak Choudhary Devi Lal, sports, entertainment, Haryana GK, Current affairs and mythological.
  • The team should report on 14th September 2017 in Polytechnic Hall at 9:00 AM
  • The entries should reach us by 11th Sep., 2017 (4 PM)
  • The participating students are requested to carry their I-Cards for identification.

 

(i) On the Spot Painting:

  • Each participant college can depute maximum Five (5) student participants.
  • Participant has to bring his/her own material that is Chart, pair of scissors, gum, water color, oil painting color and other required material.
  • The maximum time duration for completing the painting shall not exceed one hour (01  hr)
  • The participants should report on 14th September 2017 in JCD Pharmacy (Pharmacy hall) at 11.00 AM.
  • The theme for the competition will be provided on the spot.
  • The entries should reach us by 11th Sep., 2017 (4 PM)
  • The participants are requested to carry their I-Cards for identification.
  • The decision of the judges will be final.

(ii) Collage Making

  • Each participant college can depute maximum Five (5) participants.
  • The theme of the competition will be Women power, Modern and Healthy lifestyle.
  • Participant has to bring his/her own material that is Chart, pair of scissors, gum, newspaper cuttings and other required material.
  • The use of printed material from i the ternet is not allowed.
  • The maximum time duration for completing the painting shall not exceed one hour (01 hr).
  • The participants should report on 14th September 2017 in JCD Pharmacy (Pharmacy hall,) at 09:30 AM
  • The entries should reach us by 11th Sep. 2017 (4 PM)
  • The participants are requested to carry their I-Cards for identification.
  • Decision of the judges will be final.

(iii) Poster Making Competition:

  • Each participant college can depute maximum Five (5) participants.
  • The Acceptable tools of painting include pencil, crayon, water color, oil paint, computer drawing, etc. Photographs, wires, and other 3D objects are not acceptable. The Participant has to bring his/her own material.
  • The painting must not include words, national flags, or slogans.
  • The maximum time duration for completing the painting shall not exceed one hour (01 hr)
  • The participants should report on 14th Sep., 2017 in JCD Pharmacy (Pharmacy) at 02:00PM.
  • The theme for competition will be Life is precious, Say no to child labour and female foeticide.
  • The entries should reach us by 07th Sep., 2017 (4 PM)
  • The participants are requested to carry their I-Cards for identification.
  • The decision of the judges will be final.

(iv) Cartooning

  •  Each participant college can depute maximum Five (5) participants.
  • The Acceptable tools of cartooning include only pencil and eraser.
  • The sketching must describe a cartoon story.
  • The maximum time duration for completing the sketching shall not exceed one hour (01 hr).
  • The student should report on 14th September 2017 in JCD Pharmacy (Pharmacy) at 3.00 AM.
  • The entries should be sent up to 11th Sep. 2017 (4 PM)
  • The participating are requested to carry their I-Cards for identification.
  • The decision of the judges will be final.
